Tier2Tek Staffing is hiring on behalf of our client for a Windows Engineer position. This is a direct hire opportunity with a leading organization in the Healthcare Technology industry, offering innovative solutions to optimize patient care and operational efficiency.
The Windows Engineer will be responsible for the design, implementation, and support of Windows-based systems and infrastructure. This role involves ensuring optimal performance, security, and availability of the company’s systems while working collaboratively with IT teams to drive technology improvements.
Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain Windows servers and systems.
- Monitor system performance, ensuring high availability and reliability.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues for Windows environments.
- Perform regular system updates, patches, and upgrades.
- Develop automation scripts to streamline IT processes using PowerShell or equivalent tools.
- Ensure system security by implementing proper configurations and updates.
- Collaborate with IT teams to implement and maintain Active Directory, Group Policy, and other Windows services.
- Create and maintain technical documentation for systems and processes.
- Participate in disaster recovery planning and testing.
- Provide technical support and mentorship to junior IT staff as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- 3+ years of experience working as a Windows Systems Engineer or Administrator.
- Proficiency in Windows Server (2016/2019/2022) environments.
- Strong knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and related Windows technologies.
- Experience with virtualization platforms such as VMware or Hyper-V.
- Proficiency with scripting tools such as PowerShell for automation.
- Familiarity with IT security practices and tools.
- Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to resolve complex issues.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Relevant certifications such as MCSA, MCSE, or VMware are a plus.
