Tier2Tek Staffing is seeking a talented Technology Support Specialist for a client in the education sector. This is a direct hire position where you will play a critical role in providing technical support, troubleshooting, and ensuring smooth operation of technology systems for staff and students. Responsibilities
- Provide frontline technical support to staff, students, and administrators for hardware, software, and network-related issues.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with computers, printers, mobile devices, and other technology assets.
- Manage and maintain user accounts, passwords, and access rights across various systems.
- Set up and configure new hardware and software, ensuring compatibility with existing systems.
- Perform routine maintenance, updates, and patches on computers and servers to ensure optimal performance.
- Assist with the setup and maintenance of classroom technology, including projectors, interactive whiteboards, and audio-visual equipment.
- Monitor and respond to support tickets in a timely and professional manner.
- Document issues, resolutions, and maintain accurate records in the support system.
- Collaborate with the IT team to implement new technologies and system upgrades.
- Educate and train end-users on technology best practices and tools to maximize productivity.
Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in a technology support role or similar position.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting Windows and Mac operating systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and Google Workspace tools.
- Experience with Active Directory, network printers, and basic networking concepts (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS).
- Familiarity with classroom or enterprise-level technology systems is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills, with a customer-focused mindset.
- Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft Modern Desktop Administrator are a plus.
