Tier2Tek Staffing, on behalf of our client in the healthcare technology industry, is seeking an experienced Technical Writer Manager for a direct hire position. This role involves leading a team of technical writers, overseeing documentation strategies, and ensuring that all technical materials are clear, concise, and accessible to users. The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator with a deep understanding of technical documentation processes, ideally with experience in healthcare technology or software documentation.
Responsibilities
- Manage and mentor a team of technical writers, setting goals and providing feedback to ensure high-quality output.
- Develop and implement documentation standards and strategies, aligning with the company’s objectives.
- Work closely with engineering, product management, and support teams to gather technical information and ensure accurate documentation.
- Oversee the creation, organization, and updating of user manuals, online help, API documentation, and other technical documents.
- Ensure that all documentation meets compliance and regulatory requirements specific to healthcare technology.
- Continuously improve documentation processes, leveraging feedback from users and stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Technical Writing, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in technical writing, with at least 2 years in a managerial or lead role.
- Proven experience in the healthcare technology sector is a plus.
- Strong project management skills with a track record of managing documentation projects end-to-end.
- Proficient in using technical writing tools (e.g., MadCap Flare, Adobe FrameMaker, Confluence).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an eye for detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work in a collaborative environment and communicate complex technical information clearly.
