Tier2Tek Staffing is seeking a Senior Desktop Support Lead for our client, a growing firm in the finance industry. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced IT professional to take on a leadership role in desktop support, ensuring seamless technical operations across the organization. The right candidate will be responsible for managing desktop support teams, troubleshooting complex technical issues, and implementing IT solutions to enhance user experience and system performance.
As a Senior Desktop Support Lead, you will oversee desktop support strategies, mentor a team of IT professionals, and work closely with other IT departments to improve infrastructure and service delivery. This role requires a balance of hands-on technical expertise and leadership skills, ensuring all end-user computing environments run efficiently. - Lead and mentor a team of desktop support technicians, providing technical guidance and professional development.
- Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of desktop systems, software, and peripherals.
- Act as an escalation point for complex technical issues, ensuring timely resolution.
- Develop and implement best practices for IT support, optimizing efficiency and system performance.
- Collaborate with IT leadership to improve infrastructure, security, and user experience.
- Manage IT assets, including hardware inventory, licensing, and procurement.
- Provide support for remote and on-site employees, ensuring optimal system performance.
- Maintain documentation for troubleshooting procedures, system configurations, and IT policies.
- Coordinate with vendors and third-party service providers for hardware and software support.
- Stay up to date with emerging technologies and recommend system upgrades or changes as needed.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field preferred. Equivalent work experience will be considered.
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in IT support, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Strong expertise in Windows and MacOS environments, along with Active Directory and Office 365.
- Experience with ITSM tools, remote desktop support, and troubleshooting hardware/software issues.
- Knowledge of network fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, VPN, TCP/IP).
- Experience with security best practices, including endpoint protection and compliance.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator, or ITIL are a plus.
