Tier2Tek Staffing is seeking a Principal Cybersecurity Engineer for our client, a leading organization in the aerospace industry. This is a high-impact role for an experienced cybersecurity professional who will play a key role in securing enterprise systems, critical infrastructure, and sensitive data. The ideal candidate will develop and implement security strategies, perform risk assessments, and lead incident response efforts to protect against emerging cyber threats.
As a Principal Cybersecurity Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and maintaining security architectures, ensuring compliance with industry regulations, and leading cybersecurity initiatives across the organization. You will work closely with IT teams, security analysts, and executive leadership to drive security improvements while balancing operational efficiency. - Design, implement, and maintain security architectures to protect enterprise and cloud environments.
- Conduct risk assessments, penetration testing, and vulnerability management to mitigate security threats.
- Lead security incident response efforts, including detection, containment, and recovery from cyber threats.
- Develop and enforce cybersecurity policies, best practices, and compliance standards (NIST, ISO 27001, etc.).
- Implement and manage security tools, including SIEM, IDS/IPS, endpoint protection, and identity management solutions.
- Collaborate with IT and development teams to integrate security best practices into system architecture.
- Monitor emerging threats, conduct threat intelligence analysis, and develop proactive security strategies.
- Oversee security awareness training and compliance initiatives for employees and stakeholders.
- Manage security audits, regulatory compliance, and reporting to executive leadership.
- Work with external partners, vendors, and government agencies to ensure cybersecurity alignment with industry standards.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Experience: 8+ years in cybersecurity engineering, with at least 3 years in a senior or principal-level role.
- Strong expertise in network security, cloud security, and endpoint protection.
- Experience with cybersecurity frameworks (NIST, CIS, ISO 27001) and regulatory compliance (SOX, HIPAA, GDPR).
- Proficiency in penetration testing, vulnerability scanning, and security monitoring tools.
- Hands-on experience with SIEM platforms, firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and encryption technologies.
- Programming or scripting knowledge (Python, PowerShell, Bash) is a plus.
- Security certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, or GIAC are highly preferred.
