Description
Tier2Tek Staffing is seeking a dedicated and skilled NOC Technician for a direct hire position with our client in Denver, CO. The NOC Technician will be responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and troubleshooting network operations to ensure optimal network performance and availability. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in network monitoring and experience in responding to network alerts in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Monitor network performance and system alerts using various network management tools.
- Perform initial troubleshooting of network issues, escalating problems to senior engineers as needed.
- Maintain and update network documentation, ensuring accurate records of network configurations and incidents.
- Respond to network outages, slowdowns, and security incidents promptly to minimize downtime.
- Assist in the implementation of network upgrades, patches, and new technology rollouts.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve complex network issues.
- Generate and analyze reports on network performance metrics and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Provide technical support for network-related inquiries from internal and external clients.
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 2+ years of experience in a NOC or similar role within a network operations environment.
- Proficiency with network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Nagios, or similar).
- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, and routing protocols.
- Strong troubleshooting skills with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Availability for shift work, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as part of a 24/7 NOC operation.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, CCNA) are a plus.
