NOC Engineer
Description
We are hiring a NOC Engineer for a direct hire position in Denver, CO. The ideal candidate will be responsible for monitoring network systems, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring maximum uptime. This role requires strong technical expertise and a proactive approach to maintaining network performance and security.
Responsibilities
- Monitor network systems and servers for performance, availability, and security issues.
- Respond to network alerts and incidents, performing initial troubleshooting and escalating as necessary.
- Diagnose and resolve network problems such as connectivity, latency, and hardware failures.
- Maintain and update documentation on network configurations, procedures, and issues.
- Collaborate with IT teams to resolve complex network problems and maintain network health.
- Implement patches, upgrades, and configuration changes as required.
- Assist in disaster recovery planning and execution.
- Provide 24/7 support as part of an on-call rotation for critical network events.
- Proactively identify and resolve potential network issues to prevent service interruptions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Network Engineering, or related field preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in a NOC or similar network engineering role.
- Proficiency with network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Nagios).
- Strong understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, etc.).
- Experience with routers, switches, firewalls, and VPN technologies.
- Certifications like CCNA, CCNP, or other relevant networking credentials are highly desirable.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in high-pressure situations.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with team members.
