Tier2Tek Staffing is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Network Operations Technician (NOC) for our client in the financial services industry. This is a direct hire opportunity to work with a reputable organization dedicated to providing reliable and secure network infrastructure to support critical financial operations.

Responsibilities
  • Monitor network systems, routers, switches, and firewalls for potential issues, performance bottlenecks, and security breaches.
  • Respond to network alerts and troubleshoot connectivity problems to maintain consistent uptime.
  • Perform routine maintenance on network equipment and execute configuration changes as required.
  • Escalate complex issues to senior network engineers while maintaining detailed incident reports.
  • Document network performance and incident responses, ensuring all actions are recorded for compliance and future reference.
  • Work collaboratively with IT security teams to enforce network security protocols and compliance standards.
  • Participate in on-call rotations to address urgent issues outside of standard hours.
Qualifications
  • Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a Network Operations Center (NOC) or a similar technical support role, preferably within a highly regulated industry.
  • Technical Skills: Familiarity with financial-grade network monitoring tools, secure VPN configuration, and a strong grasp of TCP/IP, firewalls, and network security practices.
  • Certifications: CompTIA Network+, Cisco CCNA, or similar certifications are highly desirable.
  • Soft Skills: Strong analytical and communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment.
