Tier2Tek Staffing is partnering with a prominent financial services company to hire a skilled NOC Technician. This is a direct hire position that offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment ensuring the stability and reliability of network operations.

The ideal candidate will monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve network issues while maintaining high standards of performance and uptime. This role requires strong technical acumen, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a 24/7 operational setting.

Responsibilities
  • Monitor network systems, servers, and applications to identify performance issues and outages.
  • Diagnose and resolve network-related problems, escalating complex issues to senior engineers when necessary.
  • Conduct routine system checks and maintenance to ensure network reliability.
  • Document incidents, resolutions, and network performance metrics.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to address hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
  • Assist in implementing network upgrades and changes.
  • Ensure adherence to industry best practices and organizational security protocols.
  • Provide on-call support and work in shifts to maintain 24/7 operations.
Qualifications

Required:

  • Associate's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 2+ years of experience in a NOC or similar IT support role.
  • Strong understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, and firewalls.
  • Experience with monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, Nagios, or similar.
  • Familiarity with operating systems like Windows and Linux.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team-oriented environment.

Preferred:

  • Industry certifications such as CCNA, CompTIA Network+, or equivalent.
  • Experience in financial services or other highly regulated industries.
  • Knowledge of ITIL processes and practices.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
