As a Linux Production Support Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the uptime, stability, and performance of production systems that support core business operations. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including development, DevOps, and infrastructure to monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues quickly and effectively. - Provide Level 2/3 support for production Linux environments, ensuring high availability and performance.
- Monitor system health and logs to proactively identify and resolve potential issues.
- Troubleshoot and resolve incidents related to system failures, configuration errors, and performance bottlenecks.
- Collaborate with engineering and DevOps teams to implement improvements and automation.
- Maintain and update documentation related to system architecture, procedures, and incident reports.
- Perform root cause analysis and post-incident reviews to prevent recurrence.
- Participate in on-call rotation to support 24/7 production environment.
- Apply patches and updates as needed, ensuring compliance with security standards.
- Support deployment of applications and updates in production and staging environments.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in Linux system administration or production support.
- Strong knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), CentOS, or similar distributions.
- Familiarity with scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or Perl.
- Experience with monitoring tools (e.g., Nagios, Prometheus, Grafana).
- Basic networking knowledge (TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls, VPNs).
- Understanding of ITIL or incident management frameworks is a plus.
