Tier2Tek Staffing is seeking a Lab IT Systems Specialist for our client, a pioneering company in the Biotechnology industry based in Denver. This is a direct hire position offering a chance to work at the intersection of laboratory operations and cutting-edge information technology. As a Lab IT Systems Specialist, you will be responsible for supporting and maintaining IT systems used in lab environments, including scientific instruments, data acquisition systems, and specialized software platforms. You’ll work closely with both IT and lab personnel to ensure systems are compliant, secure, and performing optimally. Your contributions will directly support ongoing research, development, and regulatory compliance in a highly collaborative environment.

Responsibilities
  • Manage and maintain IT infrastructure supporting laboratory equipment and applications.
  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot lab-specific software and instrument interfaces.
  • Ensure lab systems comply with regulatory and data integrity standards (e.g., GxP, FDA 21 CFR Part 11).
  • Act as the primary liaison between lab users, IT, and vendors for issue resolution and updates.
  • Monitor performance, perform backups, and coordinate disaster recovery procedures for lab systems.
  • Document SOPs, change control processes, and system configurations.
  • Support onboarding of new lab equipment requiring IT integration.
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to ensure system security and access control.
  • Participate in audits and assist with compliance documentation.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Life Sciences, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in IT support, preferably in a lab or regulated environment.
  • Familiarity with lab equipment software, LIMS (Laboratory Information Management Systems), and ELNs (Electronic Lab Notebooks).
  • Understanding of regulatory frameworks (GxP, GLP, or GMP) and validation processes.
  • Experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, and network protocols.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work onsite with occasional remote flexibility.
