About the Position:
Tier2Tek Staffing is partnering with a leading client in the financial services industry to hire a talented Database Engineer. This is a direct hire position offering an excellent opportunity to work on cutting-edge database systems and support mission-critical applications.
Job Description:
The Database Engineer will design, implement, maintain, and optimize database systems to ensure the secure and efficient storage of data. The ideal candidate will possess advanced knowledge of database technologies, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in a collaborative environment to meet organizational goals.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement database architectures for new and existing applications.
- Optimize database performance by analyzing and resolving issues.
- Develop and maintain data pipelines, ETL processes, and backup systems.
- Monitor database systems to ensure security, reliability, and performance.
- Collaborate with application developers to design and refine database solutions.
- Create and enforce database standards, documentation, and best practices.
- Perform capacity planning and data growth forecasting.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience as a Database Engineer or in a similar role.
- Proficiency in SQL and experience with relational databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Microsoft SQL Server.
- Experience with NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra) is a plus.
- Knowledge of data warehousing, ETL pipelines, and data modeling techniques.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud is preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
