Tier2Tek Staffing is hiring for a direct-hire Cyber Security Specialist position in Denver, CO. This role is vital to safeguarding our client's healthcare data and IT systems. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem-solver, skilled in identifying and mitigating cybersecurity threats, and passionate about implementing cutting-edge security solutions.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage cybersecurity measures to protect IT systems and sensitive data.
- Monitor network activity to identify and mitigate potential threats or breaches.
- Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing.
- Develop and enforce security policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Respond to and manage security incidents, including root cause analysis and resolution.
- Collaborate with IT and leadership teams to ensure compliance with industry regulations such as HIPAA.
- Train employees on security awareness and protocols to minimize risk.
- Stay updated on emerging cybersecurity trends, tools, and techniques.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in cybersecurity or IT security roles.
- Strong knowledge of firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and encryption tools.
- Proficiency in incident response, vulnerability management, and risk assessment.
- Familiarity with healthcare industry regulations (HIPAA) and compliance requirements.
- Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, or CompTIA Security+ are highly desirable.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
