Tier2Tek Staffing is seeking a dedicated and skilled Cyber Security Analyst to join our client’s team in Chicago, IL. The Cyber Security Analyst will be responsible for protecting the organization’s information systems and data by identifying, analyzing, and mitigating security threats. This role is crucial for ensuring the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of critical systems and data.

Responsibilities
  • Threat Detection & Analysis: Monitor network traffic for suspicious activity, identify potential threats, and respond to security incidents in a timely manner.
  • Security Assessments: Conduct vulnerability assessments, penetration tests, and security audits to identify and address security gaps.
  • Incident Response: Develop and implement incident response plans, including containment, eradication, and recovery processes following a security breach.
  • Security Policies & Procedures: Create, update, and enforce security policies, standards, and guidelines to ensure compliance with industry regulations and best practices.
  • Security Awareness Training: Conduct regular training sessions for employees on cybersecurity threats and best practices to promote a security-aware culture.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with IT and other departments to implement security solutions and improve overall security posture.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain detailed documentation of security incidents, procedures, and compliance activities, and prepare regular reports for management.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Cyber Security, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in cybersecurity, information security, or a related field.
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, or CompTIA Security+ are preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in security tools and technologies such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, endpoint protection, and encryption methods.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of security frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001) and regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze complex security issues and develop effective mitigation strategies.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
