AutoLISP CAD Developer
Description
The CAD Programmer is instrumental in evolving our software applications through the development and personalization of AutoCAD solutions, catering to the distinct needs of our projects and clientele. This role capitalizes on specialized skills in AutoCAD programming and scripting, significantly enhancing the precision and efficiency of our design and drafting operations.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with various teams to identify and articulate programming needs and objectives.
- Employ AutoLISP and .NET frameworks for crafting and refining AutoCAD software solutions.
- Innovate with custom AutoCAD commands, tool palettes, and scripts to minimize manual tasks and optimize the drafting workflow.
- Troubleshoot and rectify issues within AutoCAD programs to guarantee their flawless operation.
- Maintain, update, and refine existing AutoCAD programs and scripts.
- Document coding methodologies and solutions to foster a culture of knowledge sharing.
- Engage in hands-on design and drafting projects to validate and refine custom solutions.
- Conduct instructional sessions to ensure CAD users are maximally benefiting from tailored tools and features.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Stay abreast of the latest developments in AutoCAD software, integrating new functionalities to enhance productivity.
- Offer expertise in AutoCAD programming and scripting through technical support and training initiatives.
Qualifications
- Education:
- An Associate degree or its equivalent from a two-year college or technical institution is preferred.
- Experience:
- 5+ years of programming experience (AutoLISP and .NET)
- 3+ years in a CAD-centric role, showcasing a portfolio of successful AutoCAD customization projects.
- Experienced with software such as AutoCAD, Excel, Access, Outlook, and SharePoint, and adept at quickly learning new technologies.
- Personal Attributes: Demonstrates meticulous attention to detail, a commitment to producing high-quality work, the ability to independently initiate projects, and effective teamwork capabilities.
- Familiarity with additional CAD software and design tools is considered a plus.
