Hello, we are looking for both entry level and intermediate CAD drafters to join a team of land surveyors. You should have knowledge of 2D drafting/detailing programs such as AutoCAD 2D or any other CAD software. Great company with great benefits and culture.
As a CAD Technician/Drafter I, you will use computer-aided design (CAD) programs like AutoCAD, to create, edit/modify and print drawings for a variety of projects and a variety of specific project needs. You’ll work alongside a senior-level designer or engineer to assist with all entry-level design tasks.
Responsibilities
- Drafting and providing designs to Engineering.
- Accept work direction from other drafters/designers, engineers, and manager on assigned projects.
- Work from rough engineering notes, drawings, sketches and general instructions.
- Fill in technical details using drawings, rough sketches, specifications, etc.
- Calculations for placement accuracy.
- Taking data and cleaning it up: rendering, redlining, etc.
- Research specifications and datasheets when needed to get answers.
- Log drawings and database entries.
- Team meetings weekly regarding project schedule.
- Maintain drawing records in our file management system and/or in conjunction with document controls staff.
- Perform other duties as assigned by your supervisor or project engineer.
Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- One-year certificate in Architectural or Civil Drafting from a college or technical school.
- Certification from an accredited CAD program.
- No professional experience required, but nice to have.
- Ability to read architectural drawings.
- Pro-active communication skills, both in-person and through voice, video, chat, and email.
- Basic math skills, plus an interest/curiosity about engineering, design, and analysis.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to work quality.
- Academic background in Engineering field preferred.
- Experience with the development of layouts for land surveying.
